About Doodle

Doodle is a SaaS group scheduling poll tool founded in 2007 in Zurich, Switzerland. G2: 4.4 stars from 2,100+ reviews. It solves a specific problem: finding a time that works across a large group of people with different schedules. Organizers create a poll with proposed time slots; participants click which slots work for them; Doodle surfaces the best option. This is fundamentally different from a booking page tool like Calendly — Doodle does not replace 1:1 scheduling links but handles many-to-many coordination where you can not impose a time on others. Pricing: free tier with ads (heavily criticized on Reddit), $6.95/mo Pro (no ads, video meeting integration, reminders), $8.95/mo Team (admin controls, branding). The free tier ads are aggressive and intrusive enough that Reddit threads specifically warn users to expect them. Integrates with Google Calendar, Outlook, and Zoom. The core polling feature is simple and reliable, which is why the product has retained users for 15+ years despite a minimal feature set. Compared to When2meet (free, no-frills alternative): Doodle has a better UI and calendar integration; When2meet is free with no ads. Compared to Calendly: entirely different use case — Doodle is for group consensus finding, not self-service booking.

Pros

  • Purpose-built for many-to-many scheduling coordination
  • Simple and reliable core polling feature
  • Works without requiring attendees to have accounts
  • Good calendar sync with Google and Outlook
  • Established 15+ year track record
  • Integrates with Zoom and Teams

Cons

  • Free tier ads are aggressive and intrusive
  • Not a replacement for 1:1 booking pages like Calendly
  • UI looks dated compared to modern scheduling tools
  • Limited features relative to cost
  • When2meet is a free ad-free alternative
  • Mobile experience is rough on free tier

Best For

  • Coordinating meeting times across large groups who can not all be imposed on a fixed time
  • External stakeholder meetings where you need consensus on timing without account requirements
  • Teams doing recurring time-finding without admin controls — simple poll creation and collection

Not Ideal For

  • Anyone who needs a self-service booking page for 1:1 appointments — Calendly is the right tool
  • Free tier users who need a clean experience — ads are too aggressive; use When2meet instead

Potential Deal Breakers

  • Free tier has aggressive display ads that make the experience genuinely unpleasant
  • Does not replace booking page tools — it is a poll, not a calendar link
  • When2meet offers the same core polling feature free with no ads

Who Is This For?

Hands-on tested 2026-05

Signup Experience

Free account creation is optional — polls can be sent without an account. Respondents vote with no login required, which is the key strength.

For Home Users

Best tool for group scheduling polls. Dead simple for respondents and requires no account. Beats emailing back and forth for finding group availability.

For Business Users

Solid for ad-hoc group scheduling but limited for ongoing booking needs. Pro plan adds branding removal and reminders. Not a Calendly replacement for individual booking.

Our Verdict

Doodle does one thing — group time polling — and does it reliably. The free tier ad experience is bad enough that the $7/mo Pro plan is the minimum usable version. If you just need a 1:1 booking link, this is the wrong tool entirely. For large-group coordination, it remains the most recognized solution even if When2meet is free and ad-free.
